DANIELLE HEATON was born and raised in the birthplace of aviation: Dayton Ohio. (Sorry North Carolina). At a very early age, she took an interest to singing and wearing strange clothing combinations and started dragging her mother, the great “Linj the Ninj” to various children’s theatre auditions. Three painful productions of “Annie” later, she knew performing was for her.
She graduated with a B.F.A in Musical Theatre from Emerson College in Boston MA. During school, she was cast as many different prostitutes in a plethora of plays much to her family’s confusion. She discovered her love of improvisation and film and while at Emerson, she landed a part in Richard Kelly’s “The Box” starring Frank Langella and Cameron Diaz.
Upon graduation, Danielle moved to NYC to join the ranks of midwestern girls that try and make it in musical theatre. Whilst waiting in one of those hot sweaty open call rooms, she began to think about ways she could be proactive about bringing work to her. She started working on her original screen play as well as sketch writing and is now in her own sketch group, Cross Line Baby. She also began to teach ASL to children and their parents through music with a program called “BabyFingers”– a wonderful organization for helping children to communicate with their parents at an early age. She even started puppeteering and became the voice and character behind a jovial, British eggplant named Erica with the group “Super Sprowtz”. She got behind their message of spreading healthy eating habits to kids through song and puppetry and was able to perform at the White House for their annual Easter Egg Roll… and yes, Michelle Obama is a real life dream.
Danielle then began the national tour of Sesame St. Live’s “Elmo Makes Music” playing a human character yearning to teach music and wear a pantsuit. She then returned to NYC to star in four Off-Broadway productions- “The Killing Room” with One Year Lease, “Big Night” with Regroup Theatre Company, “The Phantom of the Improv” and “50 Shades The Musical Parody”. Danielle then combined her love of performing with travel and worked with both Norwegian and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines working on the musical “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” as the lovable Marion. After seeing the beauty of Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Danielle headed out for LA on a road trip of a lifetime. She is currently coming up on her first year anniversary of living in LA and in her short time here, she has already booked a variety of international commercials and indie films.
